About our surgery
Priory Fields Practice has seven doctors who see patients in their general surgeries and who also have interests in different medical fields, which ensures that our patients have access to comprehensive medical services. We also have bilingual doctors, who are able to help patients whose first language is not English, to understand what is being said in their consultation. Our reception team are here to help with your queries; we also have a Polish receptionist to help with our polish community.
Priory Fields Practice and three of the doctors hold Training Accreditations; we have Registrars who train with us during their final years before becoming a General Practitioner. This has created an environment of continued learning and development not only for our doctors but all our staff.
At Priory Fields Practice we have a comprehensive nursing team who provide varied clinics for our patients, they triage patient calls in the morning, ensuring that patients see the most appropriate clinician as soon as possible, they are minor illness trained and can deal with most minor ailments but of course will always consult with the doctor if an ailment is particularly complex. Each nurse specialises in long term conditions, including Diabetes, Asthma, Chronic Heart Disease (CHD), Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and Mental Health, these clinics are nurse led but there is a team approach that includes the Lead Doctor for that particular condition, a Health Care Assistant and an Administrator.
We work very closely with our community colleagues, District Nurses, Health Visitors, Midwives, Macmillan Nurse and meet regularly to discuss individual patient care; we believe that having an integrated team approach will only improve the care and outcomes for our patients.
